Two operators. One publication.
Between us, we have over 40 years of operating experience in the American electric bike industry, and we've designed, built, safety-tested, and delivered more than 75,000 fully assembled electric bikes across the USA. One of our companies grew into the largest e-bike-only dealer network in America — 200+ locations at peak — and was acquired in a nine-figure transaction. The other hand-assembled cruiser e-bikes one at a time in Southern California for over a decade, owning the entire production process from the raw frame to a finished, road-tested bike delivered fully assembled to the customer's door.
We helped write the operating playbook for the modern American e-bike dealer model: dealer qualification, technician training on hub and mid-drive systems most shops had never serviced, exclusive-territory economics that let owners actually invest in long-term support, and a brand experience that held together from website to showroom to the third year of ownership. Most 'dealer networks' in this industry today are loose authorized-service lists. The one we built was a real one — by design.
Quality, warranty, and supplier discipline
We drove supplier qualification personally — auditing overseas factories, vetting motor and battery vendors against US safety standards, instituting incoming-quality inspections, and pushing for the longest factory-backed frame, motor, and battery warranties in the category at the time. When a failure hit the field, we knew which serial-number batch it came from, which factory line, and which dealer could resolve it that week. We have signed off on thousands of warranty claims, sat through every type of failure-mode dispute, and seen up close which engineering shortcuts cause which problems three years later.
On the manufacturing side, our team spent over a decade hand-building cruiser e-bikes in Southern California — customers chose custom-painted frames and forks, custom fenders, chain guards, rear racks, baskets, and battery cases, and each bike was hand-built to the customer's exact design and style, then inspected, road-tested, and safety-certified in-house before being shipped fully assembled. No flat-pack box. No 'YouTube assembly video.' That raw-frame-to-finished-bike discipline is why we're intimately familiar with the legal frameworks, US safety standards, and the small assembly and certification nuances that separate a genuinely safe e-bike from a dangerous one — knowledge most reviewers never develop.
Why this matters for you
When we tell you a hub motor will overheat on a 12% grade with a 350-lb gross weight, we're not guessing — we wrote warranty claims on bikes that did. When we tell you a battery BMS isn't trustworthy, we've cracked the case open and read the chip codes.
That's the difference between an operator's review and a YouTuber's. We don't need to test something for two weeks to know what we're looking at. We already know.
"We sold, warranted, and serviced more e-bikes in our first three years than most reviewers will ever touch. That perspective doesn't go away."
