The XPedition 2.0 is for the family that wants a school-run cargo bike without a four-figure-times-four price. At $1,399 it holds the original's price while fixing its most-cited flaw: cadence-sensor surging with a child on the back.

The 8.8 reflects the strongest value score in the cargo category — torque sensor, 450 lb payload, 180mm hydraulic brakes, a suspension fork and a dual-battery option with a claimed 170-mile ceiling. It gives ground on the physics: 83 lbs of bike plus load is real mass, and a hub motor at that mass works hard on sustained climbs where the Tern GSD's Bosch mid-drive stays composed.

If your terrain is flat to rolling, this is eighty percent of a GSD for a fifth of the money. If you live on a hill, test the climb before you commit.
