Our verdict
By Sean Lupton · August 12, 2026 · Scored 8.5/10 against how we score
Research-based verdict. This score is an editorial assessment built from spec analysis, verified owner reports, and independent third-party testing — not our own test ride (yet).
The Pace 5 REC is the newest and most powerful of the cruisers: Level-grade motor output in a bike set up for errands and bike paths.
The 8.5 reflects an unusual combination for the category — 80 Nm and 1,440W peak in a relaxed cruiser frame, a 75-mile range claim, and a 330 lb payload that beats most comfort bikes. UL 2849 certification is present, as it now is across the range.
The rigid alloy fork is the main compromise, and the 27.5×2.1" tyres are doing all the damping. If your routes are smooth, that is a reasonable trade for 60.5 lbs and this much power at $1,799.
