The Current EXP is Aventon aiming directly at Specialized and Trek, and charging accordingly.

It scores 9.0 on componentry, weight and warranty. A carbon front triangle bringing the bike to 53 lbs with an 800Wh battery is genuinely impressive; SRAM Maven Base brakes are the strongest thing you can currently bolt to a trail bike; the S1000 Transmission and RockShox 140/150mm suspension are properly specified; and a lifetime frame warranty signals confidence.

The open question is not the bike, it is the network behind it. At $5,999 you are paying Specialized money without a Specialized dealer within driving distance of most riders, and you are trusting an unproven motor platform. The hardware earns the score; the ownership experience is the part we cannot yet vouch for.
