The Abound LR is the long-rack cargo bike in Aventon's pair, aimed at parents doing the school run and anyone replacing car trips with a bike.

It scores 8.6 with its strongest marks on safety and payload. A 440 lb capacity with both UL 2271 cell and UL 2849 system certification is exactly what you want under a bike carrying children, and the torque sensor matters more here than on any other bike in the range — pulling away from a stop with 100 lbs on the back is where cadence-sensor cargo bikes feel genuinely unsafe. Front suspension plus a suspension seatpost is generous at this price.

The costs are physical: 88 lbs unloaded, and a 20 mph Class 2 ceiling. Neither is unusual in the category, but both are worth understanding before you buy.
