Full-coverage fenders
A wet road without fenders soaks your back in 30 seconds. With fenders, the same ride is dry. It's that simple.
Look for full-coverage fenders (extending below the brake bridge, with mud flaps front and rear). Half-fenders and clip-on solutions are dramatically less effective. SKS Bluemels and Velo Orange are the references; both come in widths for 700×35 up to fat-tire 27.5×3.0.
If you have suspension or unusual frame clearance, check your fender's compatibility chart before ordering. The fork crown clearance is the most common fitment problem.

- Add a long front mud flap. It keeps your feet dry and stops road grit on the bottom bracket.
- If you have a Class 3 e-bike, double-check the mudguard's max-speed rating. Some plastic fenders flutter at 28 mph.
