German cargo specialist Riese & Müller has launched the Load 80, the latest generation of its flagship front-loader cargo e-bike. The new Load uses a 1,500 Wh dual-battery configuration (2 × 750 Wh) and a redesigned cargo bay rated for 220 lbs (100 kg) of payload.
The Load 80 carries the Bosch Performance Line Cargo motor, paired with the Bosch Smart System ecosystem (Kiox 500 display, eBike Flow app integration). Range estimates are 50-80 miles with a full payload, depending on terrain and assist level.
Pricing starts at $11,499 for the base Vario configuration, climbing to $14,800 fully optioned with hub gears, automatic transmission, and weather canopy. The bike will be available in late summer 2026 through Riese & Müller's authorized dealer network.
Riese & Müller continues to occupy the premium end of the cargo e-bike market. Competition at lower price points comes from Tern, Yuba, Larry vs Harry, and a growing number of European entrants.
