The Radster Road is for the commuter who liked what the RadCity 5 Plus stood for — a complete, rack-and-fenders commuter from a big-name direct brand — but wanted the two things it never offered: Class 3 speed and a torque figure that shrugs at hills.

The 8.6 reflects strong marks on safety and completeness: 100 Nm, a potted Safe Shield battery with UL certification, 203mm front rotor and lights, rack and fenders in the box at $1,999. It loses points on mass — 75 lbs is porky even by commuter-hub-bike standards — and on the softer question of Rad's shrinking retail and service footprint, which matters for a bike you may someday need help with.

Buy it as the RadCity's true successor. Just measure your bike room first.
