The Level 4 REC is the comfort-biased half of the Level 4 range: same 733Wh battery as its sibling, but a hub motor and $800 less.
It scores 8.6 largely on delivered power for the money. 1,440W peak and 80 Nm flattens the kind of hill that makes cheaper hub bikes struggle, the 75-mile range claim is credible for a pack this size at moderate assist, and the e-cutoff brakes are the right call on a bike that will be ridden in traffic. Weight is where it gives ground — at 68.5 lbs this is not a bike you carry, and the Altus drivetrain is basic next to the ADV's Cues.
The right pick if your commute is mostly flat and you would rather spend the difference on a lock and lights than on a mid-drive.
